All India Congress Committee (AICC) has appointed three senior observers to assess the current political situation in Punjab ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. The party high command has entrusted the responsibility to Ajay Maken, Meenakshi Natarajan and Bhajan Lal Jatav, who are expected to visit the state soon.
The move comes as the Congress intensifies its preparations for the Punjab Assembly polls, with the party leadership placing special focus on the state.
According to party sources, the high command has already conducted two internal election surveys in Punjab, but the findings reportedly differed on several key issues, including opinions on changing the state party president.
The observers will evaluate the prevailing political environment, the Congress party’s organisational strength, areas where it needs improvement, and the mood of the electorate across the state. After completing their tour, each observer will prepare and submit an independent report along with their recommendations to the party leadership.
The reports are expected to play a crucial role in helping the Congress high command fine-tune its electoral strategy and strengthen its campaign ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections.
