Congress National Spokesperson Supriya Shrinate on Friday dismissed concerns over factionalism within the Punjab Congress, saying that differences of opinion are a natural part of a democratic party. She asserted that when elections arrive, all Congress leaders and workers unite to contest together.

Addressing a press conference at the Punjab Congress headquarters in Chandigarh in the presence of Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Shrinate said the party would approach the people in the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections inspired by the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the ideals of Lord Ram.

During the press conference, Shrinate levelled serious allegations against the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She claimed there were alleged financial irregularities during the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and said the issue concerns the faith of millions of people. She added that Lord Ram does not belong to any one political party and that his name should not be used for political gain.

Shrinate also referred to the controversy surrounding the film Satluj, stating that the BJP's silence on the matter raises several questions.

Further, she alleged that the Ram Temple Trust was constituted with individuals linked to the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). She also claimed that the trust was deliberately kept outside the purview of the Right to Information (RTI) Act, raising concerns over transparency.

The BJP and the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust have previously rejected allegations of wrongdoing related to the Ram Temple project.
