India–New Zealand clash at the world’s largest cricket stadium; tight security, special arrangements and high hopes from Team India
Ahmedabad is set to witness one of the biggest moments in world cricket on Sunday as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final between India and New Zealand will be played at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium. More than 1.35 lakh spectators are expected to attend the high-voltage clash, turning the city into a hub of cricket excitement.
Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi warmly welcomed cricket fans arriving from across India and around the world to witness the historic match. He said that hosting the final at the world’s largest cricket stadium makes the occasion even more special and has drawn the attention of cricket lovers globally.
Sanghavi expressed confidence that the Indian team would deliver an outstanding performance and create history. He stated that the state administration, along with the Gujarat Cricket Association and the Board of Control for Cricket in India, had been working continuously for several days to ensure that spectators receive the best possible facilities at the stadium.
Considering the massive crowd expected, extensive arrangements have been made in and around the stadium so that fans can comfortably watch the match and be part of this historic sporting event.
Meanwhile, Goshamahal MLA from Telangana T. Raja Singh also expressed excitement about the match. He said the Indian team has been performing consistently well and the entire country hopes that India will defeat New Zealand and lift the trophy.
Security across Ahmedabad has been significantly strengthened ahead of the final. Ahmedabad Police Commissioner G. S. Malik said that more than 3,000 police personnel and around 1,000 home guards have been deployed for the match.
In addition, three anti-drone systems and eight bomb detection and disposal squads have been stationed as part of the security plan. Senior police officials will monitor security operations both inside the stadium and in surrounding areas.
Authorities have also appealed to spectators to use public transport such as buses and the Metro to avoid traffic congestion near the stadium. Transport services will run late into the night to ensure fans can return safely after the match.
