The published material should also include the number of copies
Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh, April 9-
In order to publish campaign materials during the Lok Sabha elections-2024, it is mandatory to print the name of the publisher, the individual responsible for the publication, and the number of copies on the poster or pamphlet.
The Election Department will thoroughly monitor the details of election expenditures. Therefore, by completing Annexure Forms 1 and B, the printing press operator will clarify which press produced the promotional material and who getting the material printed. Additionally, press operators must provide details on the quantity of copies printed.
Before publishing election campaign materials, press operators should ensure that there are no objectionable words in the language or content of the campaign material. The publicity material's language should not be derogatory toward any individual or party. Any such complaints found will lead to potential actions against both the individual commissioning the publication and the publisher under Section 127A of the Representation of the People Act 1951.
The press operators must retain comprehensive details of printing handbills, pamphlets, posters, banners, etc., which can be requested by the Election department at any time. The full responsibility for printing election campaign material lies with both the publisher and the individual commissioning it. It is essential to adhere to the Model Code of Conduct throughout this process.
