In a major relief to aspiring Patwaris in Haryana, candidates undergoing Patwari training will now receive a starting salary of ₹19,900 per month instead of the earlier monthly remuneration of ₹10,000. The revised pay will be applicable retrospectively from January 1, 2025, making eligible Patwaris entitled to arrears for the period concerned.
The Haryana government has amended the Haryana Revenue Patwari Service Rules, 2011, to implement the revised salary structure. The amended rules were notified on September 1, 2026.
Following the notification, the Director of Land Records issued instructions to the concerned departments and all Deputy Commissioners on October 16, directing them to ensure payment of the revised salary to eligible Patwaris.
According to the instructions, newly selected Patwaris who enrolled in Patwari training schools after January 1, 2025, will receive the starting salary of ₹19,900 per month from their respective date of joining the training program.
For all other newly selected Patwaris, the date of joining will be treated as January 1, 2025, for the purpose of salary payment. Accordingly, they will also be eligible for arrears calculated on the basis of the revised pay.
The decision is expected to provide significant financial relief to newly selected Patwaris by increasing their monthly earnings during training and ensuring payment of the eligible arrears.
