The weather in Dharamshala, the district headquarters of Kangra in Himachal Pradesh, has taken a sudden turn, with continuous rainfall and strong winds sweeping across the region. The shift has led to a noticeable drop in temperature, increasing the chill.

The sudden change in weather has raised concerns among farmers, as standing rabi crops, including wheat, are likely to be affected due to rain and gusty winds.

According to the Meteorological Department, similar weather conditions are expected to continue for the next few hours.

Meanwhile, higher altitude areas such as Rohtang Pass, the Dhauladhar Range, Kinnaur, and Chitkul witnessed fresh snowfall on Sunday (29 March). Mid and lower regions, including Shimla and Dharamshala, experienced rainfall, further intensifying the cold across the state.

The Meteorological Centre in Shimla has issued an orange alert for hailstorms and thunderstorms in Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla on Monday. A yellow alert for strong winds has also been issued for Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba, and Kangra.

However, some areas may witness dry weather conditions on Tuesday (31 March).
