A house was completely gutted in a fire at Seri village in Karayuni Kothi Gram Panchayat of Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district on Saturday morning. The estimated loss in the incident is around ₹20 lakh. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
The house belonged to Devi Singh, son of Fattu Ram. Following the incident, teams from the police and fire department rushed to the spot after receiving information about the fire. Local residents also joined the rescue and relief efforts.
Despite the combined efforts of villagers, police personnel and the fire brigade, the house suffered extensive damage and was completely destroyed in the blaze.
Residential Commissioner Amandeep Singh said that after receiving information about the incident, the concerned departmental team was immediately dispatched to the spot.
He added that necessary steps were being taken to ensure that all possible assistance was provided to the affected family.
