India defeated New Zealand by six wickets in the third T20 International, with explosive performances from Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi helping the team secure the five-match series with two matches remaining.
Chasing a target of 199 runs, India reached 200 for four in just 13.2 overs. Abhishek led the charge with a sensational century off only 35 balls, registering the fourth hundred of his T20 International career.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi provided excellent support, scoring 45 runs off just 19 deliveries. The duo shared a blistering 133-run partnership off 43 balls, putting India firmly in control of the chase.
During their remarkable stand, India also created two world records. The team reached 100 runs in just five overs, recording the fastest team century in T20 International cricket. India also registered the highest powerplay total in T20I history, scoring 118 runs without losing a wicket in the first six overs.
Earlier, New Zealand, after losing the toss in Wellington, scored 198 for three in their allotted 20 overs. However, the total proved insufficient against India's aggressive batting display.
With this emphatic victory, India clinched the five-match T20I series with two matches still to be played
