Singing of Dheru Gatha created a stir on the banks of Brahmasarovar.

The International Geeta Mahotsav organized in Kurukshetra is doing the work of preserving many genres of folk art and culture of Haryana which are on the verge of extinction. In this festival, folk arts like Dheru singing ballad, juggler art and Kachchi Ghodi are being seen on the holy banks of Brahmasarovar. Through this festival, the government is not only trying to keep the folk culture alive but is also providing employment opportunities to the folk artists. The important aspect is that the artists of Dheru Gatha singing group are adding the color of Haryanvi culture on the banks of Brahmasarovar.

North Zone Cultural Arts Center Patiala, Haryana Art and Cultural Affairs Department, Haryana Arts Council and Kurukshetra Development Board along with the state government are working to preserve the folk culture of not only Haryana but also of different states and to provide a platform to the artists. It is being done through International Geeta Mahotsav. In this festival, folk art of different states is being presented to the tourists. Artists are presenting those folk dances of these regions, which are on the verge of extinction. During the conversation, a folk artist revealed that only a few artists are left in Haryana state who are working to carry forward the Jogi Nath Bean Sapera tradition by playing Bean, Tumba, Dholak, Khanjari.

He said that his other fellow artists in his group are also working with him to keep this art alive. All the artists are dressed in traditional costumes and entertaining the people by playing lute, tumba, dholak and khanjari. This festival has become a big platform for folk artists. The government should provide platforms like International Geeta Mahotsav to further encourage such artists. On the seventh day of the Mahotsav of Crafts and Saras Mela, folk artists from different villages of Haryana made the tourists dance by presenting Dheru Gatha on the northern bank of Brahmasarovar. These folk artists praised the saga of Guru Gorakh Nath ji and the saga of Jawahar Googa Pir through singing Dheru Gatha. These folk artists say that this folk art has reached the verge of extinction. Expressing gratitude to the government and administration, he said that efforts are being made to keep the folk arts alive through the International Geeta Mahotsav.

Tourists made a lot of purchases in the Saras and Crafts fair of the festival.

Tourists made huge purchases in the crafts and sugar fair of International Geeta Mahotsav on Wednesday. On one hand, while the tourists were tasting the cuisines of different states in the bright sunshine on the banks of Brahmasarovar, on the other hand they were also shopping at different stalls. Not only this, the youth are feeling happy by taking selfies in the fair.

Information centers are working to reunite the separated.

In the International Gita Mahotsav-2023, an information center has been established by the District Information and Public Relations Department at the main gate of Brahmasarovar. Through this information centre, we are working to reunite the separated. DIPRO Dr. Narendra Singh said that every moment information is being exchanged through this information centre. Along with this, every moment information is being given to the tourists coming to the festival.
