The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) received a major political and social boost on Tuesday as internationally acclaimed kabaddi player Kinda BihariPuria joined the party along with several fellow athletes and prominent personalities from the sports fraternity. Known as “Cheeta” in the kabaddi circuit, Kinda’s entry into the party is being viewed as a significant development in Punjab’s sporting community.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s OSD, Rajbir Singh Ghumman, formally welcomed the new members into the party. Addressing the gathering, he said that AAP continues to gain support from various sections of society due to its people-centric policies and transparent governance. He added that the association of renowned athletes and young leaders with the party reflects the growing public trust in the government.
Among those who joined AAP were international kabaddi players Kinda BihariPuria, Jeeta Badalgarh, Babbu Jhaneri, and Seema Ghrachon. Kabaddi players Malkit Singh and Barinder Singh also enrolled as party members. Other notable names included renowned referee Satgur Jhaneri, international commentator Kulbir Timberwal, youth leader Amarinder Singh Rodian, Satnam Singh Virk, Manjot Singh, and Hardeep Singh.
Rajbir Singh Ghumman highlighted that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the state government has been making significant strides in education, healthcare, employment, sports, and social welfare. He expressed confidence that the inclusion of respected athletes and community leaders would further strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
The newly inducted members said they were inspired by the Bhagwant Mann government’s transparent functioning and development-oriented policies. They stated that the government's efforts toward Punjab’s progress and the empowerment of youth motivated them to become part of the political journey.
