A shocking murder case has come to light in Jalandhar, where a man allegedly killed his own friend, buried the body in a garbage dump, and attempted to mislead police by throwing the victim's mobile phone and motorcycle into a canal.

The victim has been identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Noni (31), a resident of Mohalla No. 15. He worked as a part-time DJ and was the only son of his parents. He was unmarried.

According to police, Gurpreet went missing on June 22. After unsuccessfully searching for him, his family lodged a missing person complaint on June 23, prompting the police to launch an investigation.

During the probe, investigators examined several CCTV cameras in the area. The footage showed Gurpreet entering a garbage dumping site but never coming out, raising suspicion about his disappearance.

Police then questioned Ravi, Gurpreet's friend, who worked at the garbage dump. During sustained interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to murdering Gurpreet, burying his body beneath the garbage, and disposing of his mobile phone and motorcycle in a canal to divert the investigation.

Following the confession, police used a bulldozer to excavate the garbage dump and recovered Gurpreet's body. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the murder.
