Shiromani Dal i.e. SAD has released the list of its seven candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. In the list, SAD has released the names of its candidates from Patiala, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Fatehgarh Sahib, Faridkot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar and Sangrur Los. But the name of Harsimrat, wife of SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal, is not in this list.
Interestingly, former BJP leader Anil Joshi was given the ticket from Amritsar. This Anil Joshi had been a minister in the Akali-BJP coalition government of Punjab but at that time he was in BJP. The names of Daljit Singh Cheema from Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat, Prem Singh Chandumajra from Sri Anandpur Sahib, Bikramjit Singh Khalsa from Fatehgarh Sahib, Rajwinder Singh from Faridkot, Iqbal Singh Jhunda from Sangrur and NK Sharma from Patiala are included.
However, no name has yet come forward from SAD from Bathinda seat. Harsimrat Kaur Badal has been MP from here thrice and her ticket is also considered confirmed but party has not announced her name.
