A shocking murder case has surfaced from Jalandhar, where a 48-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband using an iron griddle used for making rotis.
The brutal attack reportedly left the victim with severe head injuries, and eyewitnesses said the blows were so violent that her eyes protruded from the impact.
The incident took place in Sagar Enclave under the jurisdiction of Lambra police station area. The deceased has been identified as Sita Devi (48), while the accused husband is Santosh Vishwakarma (55). The couple originally belonged to Nepal and had shifted to the area around 10 to 15 days ago, where they were living in a rented accommodation.
According to neighbors, after the murder, the couple’s son — who was working at a factory — was informed about the incident. He rushed home and took his mother to the civil hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Locals also claimed that after the crime, the accused reached the police station and confessed to killing his wife, asking officers to arrest him. However, ASI Balveer Singh stated that the accused had not surrendered and was currently absconding.
Police further revealed that the family had been residing in Jalandhar on rent and that the couple’s two sons work in local factories. Officials also said that the accused was previously booked in a murder case in Nepal.
The police have launched an investigation and are conducting raids to arrest the accused.
