A 35-year-old man died under mysterious circumstances after falling from the 10th floor of Tower No. 3 in a residential society in Mohali late Wednesday night. The incident, which occurred around 12:25 am, was captured on CCTV cameras, and the footage has surfaced.
According to residents, they heard a loud noise and rushed to the parking area, where they found the man lying motionless. Eyewitnesses claimed he suddenly fell from above, but it remains unclear whether the death was the result of suicide, an accident, or any other incident.
The deceased was reportedly wearing headphones at the time of the fall, while a backpack containing a water bottle was found nearby. His mobile phone was recovered safely from his pocket, and he was still wearing slippers.
Residents also said the man struck an external network cable while falling, causing the cable to snap before both fell to the ground.
Police have taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem examination. The deceased had been living in a rented flat in the society for the past three to four months.
Authorities are examining CCTV footage and other evidence to determine the exact cause of the incident.
