CHANDIGARH: A 25-year-old Mohali resident was acquitted of charges for kidnapping a girl after she told thecourt that they both were married.

Shamsher singh was let off by the court after the girl stated that she was not a minor, as claimed by her parents,and that she had gone with Shamsher willingly.

While the charges of kidnapping did not hold after the girl's statement, her age could not proved hence the charges of child marraige could also not be proved.
