Punjab’s Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), Mohali, has achieved a historic milestone by recording an 87.7% success rate in the National Defence Academy (NDA) (II) Written Examination. As many as 57 out of 65 cadets from the institute have qualified for the prestigious NDA-158 Course, scheduled to commence in June 2027.
In another achievement, seven out of 30 aspirants who attended a two-month intensive crash course at the institute also cleared the examination. The successful candidates will now proceed to the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview, the next crucial stage in the selection process for entry into the Indian Armed Forces.
Congratulating the successful cadets, Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Aman Arora said the young achievers had made the state proud through their dedication and hard work. He wished them success in the upcoming SSB interviews and the rigorous training ahead.
Arora said the achievement further strengthened MRSAFPI’s reputation as a leading institution preparing young people for careers in the Indian Armed Forces. He added that the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, was committed to channelising the potential of the state’s youth towards defence services and providing them with quality training infrastructure to fulfil their aspirations of serving the nation.
MRSAFPI Director Major General Ajay H. Chauhan, VSM (Retd.), also congratulated the successful cadets and urged them to maintain their focus and discipline as they prepare for the SSB interviews. He appreciated the dedicated faculty and staff for their sustained efforts and additional work that contributed to the achievement.
Highlighting the institute’s continued performance, Major General Chauhan said that 15 cadets were also awaiting call letters to join the NDA, Technical Entry Scheme (TES) and Naval Academy courses scheduled to commence in December 2026.
The latest results mark a significant achievement for MRSAFPI Mohali, with its cadets taking another step towards fulfilling their aspirations of joining the Indian Armed Forces.
