Former Punjab Congress chief and ex-cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu’s wife, Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu, visited Satlok Ashram chief Rampal after his release from jail on bail. During the meeting, Dr. Sidhu was seen touching Rampal’s feet and seeking his blessings in a video that has now gone viral on social media.
Rampal, who spent nearly 11 years in jail, was released on bail on April 10. Since his release, several political figures and followers have reportedly visited his ashram. A video of Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu’s meeting was shared on Rampal’s social media channel “Spiritual Leader Sant Rampal Ji.”
In the nearly 2-minute-long edited video, Dr. Sidhu introduces herself by saying she had wished to meet him in jail, but “God listened” and brought him out instead. Responding with a smile, Rampal said, “Your prayers brought me out. Service to people can be done not only through politics but also through spiritual values. People just need to correct their principles.”
The meeting has sparked political discussions in Punjab, especially with the state assembly elections only months away. Rampal has a significant following and ashrams in Punjab, leading many to view the interaction through a political lens as well.
