Over 7,500 beneficiaries receive 100-square yard plot possession letters under MGGB Yojana

State-Level function held in Sonipat attended by Chief Minister Nayab Singh
Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh, June 10 –
Haryana CM Nayab Singh said that over the last decade, both the Central and State governments have effectively implemented the spirit of Antyodaya. Our double-engine government is truly pro-poor, continuously striving to strengthen and empower the underprivileged. The efforts undertaken for the upliftment of poor under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi in the last 10 years surpass what the Congress government achieved in the previous 60 years. Congress has exploited the poor by misleading them with false promises to secure their votes. During elections, the opposition falsely claimed that the Constitution and reservations would be abolished. No one can abolish the Constitution and reservation in this country.
The CM was speaking at the state-level function organized for distribution of possession letters of 100-100 square yards plots to the eligible beneficiaries under Mahatma Gandhi Gramin Basti Yojana in Sonipat district today.
In addition to Sonipat, similar programs were held at 10 other locations - Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Palwal, Gurugram, Hisar, Jind, Yamunanagar, Mahendragarh, Jhajjar, and Sirsa - where Haryana government Ministers and MLAs distributed plot possession letters to the beneficiaries. More than 7,500 people received plot possession letters during the event.
For villages lacking available land for plots, beneficiaries will receive financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each to purchase plots. Besides this, the government has made a plan to provide plots to other poor beneficiaries as well and directions have been given to the officers to develop a portal. Such families can register themselves on this portal. he added.
He said that during the election period, he directed officers to rectify the situation, ensuring beneficiaries received possession letters promptly. This task has now been successfully accomplished.

Congress misled people in the name of Mahatma Gandhi
The Chief Minister said that a decade and a half ago, the Congress had promised plots to people, yet failed to grant ownership rights, leaving citizens making rounds of government offices to get ownership rights. He criticized the Congress for attaching Mahatma Gandhi's name to the scheme but failing to deliver any benefits from 2008 to 2014 under the scheme.

15000 plots will be given under Mukhyamantri Shahri Awas Yojana
The CM said that the government has devised a plan to offer shelter to BPL families across 14 cities through the Mukhyamantri Shahri Awas Yojana. Under this scheme, 15000 plots will be provided.

Rs 100 crore will be spent on the repair of SC-BC Chaupals
Nayab Singh said that recognizing the significance of Chaupals for various community gatherings, including marriages and ceremonies, the Haryana govt has allocated a budget of Rs. 100 crore for repairing Chaupals belonging to the SC and BC categories.
