Patna Civil Court on Tuesday granted interim relief to educator Khan Sir by staying his arrest in connection with a firing case. The court also directed the police to submit the case diary and ordered that no coercive or stringent action be taken against him until the next hearing or further orders.

Khan Sir, Director of Khan Global Studies, had filed an anticipatory bail plea before the Patna District and Sessions Court on Monday. He has been booked on charges including attempted murder and illegal use of firearms in connection with the incident.

Meanwhile, the court is also expected to pronounce its decision on the bail plea of Roshan Anand, Director of Gyan Bindu Coaching, who is currently lodged in jail in connection with the alleged attack on Khan Sir’s coaching institute.

In a related development, arguments were heard on Monday regarding the bail applications of Khan Sir’s two security guards, Deepak Kumar and Talebar Singh. Their counsel, Arvind Mauar, presented arguments before the court of Judge Anurag Verma.

After hearing both sides, the court sought evidence from the police before deciding on their bail applications. The order has been reserved, and a decision is expected soon.

The two security guards were arrested on June 4 after police registered a case of attempted murder and violations under the Arms Act based on their own statements. According to the FIR, the guards alleged that Khan Sir had instructed them to open fire, reportedly saying, “You fire the shots, I will handle the rest.” The allegations remain part of the ongoing investigation.
