Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (May 5) strongly condemned the drone attacks on Fujairah, a city in the United Arab Emirates, in which three Indian nationals were injured. The UAE has blamed Iran for the attack.
Taking to social media, Modi said, “I strongly condemn the attacks on the UAE in which three Indian citizens were injured. Targeting civilians and infrastructure is completely unacceptable.”
He further added that India stands firmly with the UAE and reiterated support for resolving all issues through dialogue and diplomacy.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of ensuring safe and uninterrupted navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, calling it crucial for regional peace, stability, and global energy security.
The attack on Fujairah comes at a time when tensions remain high between the United States and Iran over a potential ceasefire in the Strait of Hormuz. The strategic waterway handles nearly 20% of the world’s oil and gas transportation, making it a key point of contention in ongoing negotiations.
