Prime Minister Narendra Modi has concluded his two-day historic visit to Slovakia, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister since the country's independence in 1993. During the visit, PM Modi and Slovak President Peter Pellegrini attended a special exhibition at the Presidential Palace in Bratislava that showcased the ancient Indian city of Varanasi through the works of Slovak artists.

The exhibition featured paintings and artworks created by Slovak artists who recently visited Varanasi, capturing the city's spiritual heritage, vibrant culture, and timeless beauty on canvas.

Sharing his experience on social media, PM Modi described the event as a "connection with Banaras in Bratislava." He wrote that art and culture have a remarkable ability to bring people closer and congratulated all the artists whose works were displayed at the exhibition.

Apart from the cultural engagement, the visit also strengthened bilateral relations between India and Slovakia.

The two nations signed key agreements in areas including counter-terrorism cooperation, education, and employment, while officially elevating their relationship to a Comprehensive Partnership, signaling a new chapter in diplomatic and strategic cooperation.
