BLOs are doing door-to-door verification work from 25th June

Haryana’s Additional Chief Electoral Officer Hema Sharma, stated that the Chief Electoral Officer’s office aims to prepare an error-free and accurate photo voter list, as only individuals whose names are on the voter list can exercise their vote in elections.
Hema Sharma was presiding over a review meeting with representatives of political parties regarding election preparations in view of the upcoming assembly elections.
She urged the representatives of political parties to review the voter list as soon as the consolidated draft voter list is published on July 25. If any discrepancies are found, such as an eligible voter's name not being on the list, the name of a deceased person being on the list, or the name of someone who has moved away, they should fill out the prescribed forms 6, 7, and 8 and submit them to the BLO through their booth-level agent or any other official.
She mentioned that the Election Commission of India has released the schedule for the ‘Schedule for Second special summary revision of photo electoral roll’ considering July 1, 2024, as the qualifying date. Providing details about the program, Haryana’s Additional Chief Electoral Officer informed that, according to the schedule, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are conducting door-to-door verification of the voter list starting from June 25.
She also mentioned that the consolidated draft voter list will be published on July 25. Claims and objections can be filed until August 9, 2024, and will be resolved by August 19. With the commission’s approval, the final voter list will be published on August 20. As per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, a booth level agent can submit up to 10 applications to the BLO at one time.
Hema Sharma added that for new voter registration, deletion of names, or correcting any discrepancies in the voter list, the Voters Service Portal app can also be used.The meeting was attended by Joint Chief Electoral Officer Raj Kumar and representatives from political parties, were present on the occasion.
