Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Sunday highlighted the positive changes taking place in the state’s education sector and praised the outstanding performance of government school students in competitive examinations.
Speaking to reporters, the Chief Minister said he had the opportunity to meet meritorious students from across Punjab, including those from Classes 8, 10 and 12, who secured top positions at both district and state levels.
“I had the privilege of meeting top-performing students from different districts of Punjab who achieved outstanding results and secured top ranks in their respective classes. It is encouraging to see the significant improvements taking place in Punjab’s education system,” Mann said.
He particularly applauded the achievements of students studying in government schools, noting that they are now succeeding in highly competitive and challenging examinations, which reflects the impact of ongoing education reforms in the state.
“It gives me immense happiness to see government school students clearing difficult and competitive examinations. Their success is a clear indication that the efforts being made to improve the education sector are yielding positive results,” he added.
The Chief Minister’s remarks come at a time when concerns are being raised across the country regarding alleged irregularities and discrepancies in the evaluation of CBSE Class 12 answer sheets. Several students and parents have questioned the evaluation process.
Meanwhile, Punjab government employees staged a protest march in Mohali towards the Chief Minister’s residence to press for their various demands. Police tightened security arrangements and deployed water cannons to disperse the protesters and maintain law and order.
Separately, Mallikarjun Kharge criticized the Central Government over the alleged irregularities in the CBSE evaluation process. He claimed that students raising concerns were not being heard and were instead being labelled unfairly.
Kharge further stated that controversies surrounding CBSE and NEET examinations have raised serious concerns about the country’s education system. Amid these debates, the Punjab Government continues to project the achievements of government school students as evidence of the positive impact of its education reforms and ongoing efforts to improve educational standards across the state.
