Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced free travel for students appearing in the NEET examination across all Punjab Roadways buses. The decision comes after students highlighted difficulties in affording travel expenses during a recent interaction with AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal.
In a social media post, CM Mann said that many economically weaker students face challenges even arranging fare to reach their examination centres. He added that during Kejriwal’s conversation with NEET aspirants, students specifically requested assistance with transportation.
The NEET exam is scheduled for June 21. In response, the Punjab government has declared that NEET candidates will be allowed free travel on Punjab Roadways buses from June 20 to June 22.
Students only need to show their admit card while boarding the bus, and no ticket fare will be charged during the designated days.
