Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday paid obeisance at Seechewal village in Jalandhar during the 38th Salana Barsi Samagam of Sant Baba Avtar Singh Ji and inaugurated a new astroturf at the Sant Avtar Singh Memorial Hockey Stadium along with Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal.

Addressing the gathering, Mann said the Punjab Government is committed to building a “Rangla Punjab” through better schools, hospitals, sports infrastructure and irrigation facilities. He claimed that 21,000 cusecs of water had been supplied to fields through improved canal systems and groundwater levels had risen by 2 to 4 metres in several areas due to recharge projects.

The Chief Minister urged Punjabis to remain united and warned against divisive politics based on religion and caste. He also stressed the importance of environmental conservation, praising Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal for his work under the “Seechewal Model” for cleaning rivers and promoting greenery.

Mann highlighted several welfare initiatives of the AAP Government, including the Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana, under which women will receive monthly financial assistance, and the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana that offers free medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh per family.

Paying tribute to Sant Baba Avtar Singh Ji, Mann said the saint devoted his life to humanity, spirituality and social harmony, and would always be remembered for spreading the message of love and brotherhood.
