Government schools across Punjab will reopen on July 1 after a month-long summer vacation, with the Punjab Education Department directing all school heads to complete necessary preparations before students return.
The department has instructed principals and school authorities to ensure that school premises are thoroughly cleaned and that adequate drinking water facilities are available for both students and staff. The move is aimed at providing a safe and comfortable environment as classes resume.
Government schools across the state remained closed for summer holidays from June 1 to June 30.
Meanwhile, a letter circulating on social media claiming that the summer vacation had been extended by seven days created confusion among parents and students.
Education Department officials have dismissed the letter as fake and clarified that schools will reopen as scheduled on July 1. Authorities have advised the public not to pay attention to misleading information shared on social media and to rely only on official announcements.
