Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has launched a year-long statewide campaign to commemorate the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, with a series of religious, cultural and social initiatives aimed at spreading His teachings across the state.

Tourism and Culture Affairs Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond said the government is taking the life and philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji to every village through mobile LED vans. A 30-minute documentary highlighting Guru Ji's message of equality, devotion and social harmony is being screened in more than 13,000 villages across Punjab.

Sond said the celebrations are being organised on a historic scale to honour the immense contribution of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji to society. As part of the program, Shobha Yatras from Varanasi, Faridkot, Jammu and Bathinda will soon converge at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, while Tirath Yatras will enable devotees from across Punjab to visit Guru Ji's Janam Asthan in Varanasi.

To engage the younger generation, the state government will organise seminars on the life and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji in schools, colleges and universities throughout Punjab.

The minister also announced that 6.5 lakh saplings will be planted in each district to mark the 650th Prakash Purab, linking the plantation drive to Guru Ji's teachings on environmental conservation. In addition, blood donation camps, marathons, cycle rallies and Kirtan Samagams will be held across the state as part of the year-long commemorative events.
