The Punjab Government on Monday carried out a major administrative reshuffle in the police department, transferring 14 senior officers across the state. Among the key changes, Amritsar Rural SSP Suhel Qasim Mir has been removed from his post. Mir had recently drawn attention after an incident involving Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Majithia and the Majitha police station.

No new posting has been assigned to Mir so far. SP Kanwaljit Singh has been given charge of Amritsar Rural in his place. Faridkot SSP Pragya Jain has also been relieved of her duties and is awaiting a fresh posting.

In another significant move, Jalandhar Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur Randhawa has been transferred. DIG Satinder Singh has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police (CP), Jalandhar.

As part of the reshuffle, Anita Punj has been shifted from Special DGP-cum-Director, MRS PPA Phillaur, to Special DGP, Human Resource Development (HRD) and Welfare. IGP Pradeep Kumar Yadav has been posted as IGP Technical Services, Chandigarh, while Dhanpreet Kaur Randhawa has been appointed Director of MRS PPA Phillaur.

DIG Satinder Singh, previously serving in Ludhiana Range, will now head the Jalandhar Police Commissionerate. Vivek Sheel Soni has been transferred from Commandant, 75th Battalion PAP Jalandhar, to DIG Border Range, Amritsar.

The government has also promoted and reassigned several officers. Surinderjit Singh Mand has been appointed DIG Prisons, Kanwaldeep Singh as DIG Law and Order, Sandeep Kumar Sharma as DIG PAP-II Jalandhar, and Sandeep Goel has been transferred from DIG AGTF-II and DIG Border Range to DIG Ludhiana Range.

The latest reshuffle is being viewed as part of the state government's efforts to streamline policing and strengthen administrative efficiency across Punjab.
