Punjab Government has distributed 25.03 lakh 'Meri Rasoi' ration kits under its flagship food security initiative and aims to cover 40.48 lakh eligible families every quarter.
Launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Food Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak, each monthly kit includes 2 kg lentils, 2 kg sugar, 1 kg salt, 200 grams turmeric powder and 1 litre mustard oil, in addition to wheat provided under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).
Ludhiana recorded the highest distribution with 2.71 lakh kits, followed by Patiala (1.83 lakh) and Bathinda (1.52 lakh). The government said the scheme is being monitored to ensure transparent and timely delivery while improving nutrition for vulnerable households.
