Punjab Government has taken a significant step towards addressing the long-pending demands of state employees, retired personnel, and various frontline workers’ organisations.
Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Tuesday held a detailed meeting with representatives of several employee and welfare bodies to discuss their concerns and demands. He assured them that the government is sensitive to all genuine issues and necessary steps would be taken to resolve them at the earliest.
The high-level review meeting was held in his office, where representatives from the Home Guard Welfare Association (Retired), Punjab Police Corona Warriors Association, Punjab Forest Department Workers Union, and Thermal Plant Employees Union participated. Senior officials, including Home Secretary Neelima, were also present.
During the meeting, the organisations raised various service-related and welfare issues concerning their members. Cheema listened to their grievances carefully and directed the concerned departments to expedite the required procedures.
He stated that the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann gives top priority to the welfare of employees and workers, and resolving their issues remains a key responsibility of the administration.
The Finance Minister specifically assured the representatives of the Home Guard Welfare Association (Retired) that their matter would soon be sent for final approval before the Chief Minister. He added that the government is working with a positive and constructive approach on the matter.
The meeting concluded on a cordial and positive note, with representatives of various organisations expressing satisfaction over the government’s assurance. The Punjab Government reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the interests and welfare of employees, workers, and frontline warriors across the state.
