Punjab Police has launched an awareness initiative to help senior citizens stay safe in the digital world and protect themselves from rising cyber threats.

The campaign encourages elderly citizens to adopt simple but effective online safety measures, including using strong and unique passwords, keeping mobile phones and computers updated, and enabling two-factor authentication on important accounts.

Officials said cybercriminals often target senior citizens through fraudulent calls, fake messages, and online scams. By following basic cybersecurity practices, individuals can significantly reduce the risk of falling victim to such crimes.

Punjab Police also urged citizens to report any cyber fraud immediately by dialing the national cybercrime helpline 1930 or by filing a complaint through the cybercrime reporting portal cybercrime.gov.in. Prompt reporting can help authorities take swift action and improve the chances of recovering lost funds.
