Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu resigned from the Union Council of Ministers on Friday. Acting on the advice of the Prime Minister, President Droupadi Murmu accepted his resignation with immediate effect under Article 75(2) of the Constitution.
Bittu was serving as the Minister of State for Railways and Minister of State for Food Processing Industries in the Central Government. His resignation marks a significant development in the Union Cabinet, although no official reason for his decision has been announced yet.
A senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, Ravneet Singh Bittu is the grandson of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh. He has remained an influential political figure in Punjab and at the national level.
