Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, on Friday, started the election campaign of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from the holy land of Sri Fatehgarh Sahib for the upcoming LS polls in Punjab. Mann addressed a huge gathering of the people, despite heavy rainfall and hailstorm in the city, and said that no way he was going back before meeting the volunteers and addressing the gathered people.
Mann said that he is not scared of little rain or hailstorm, he had faced many storms but he knows right now rain is not good for ready to harvest wheat crops in Punjab. He asked the people to not worry about anything, he is with them, they (AAP government) will compensate every loss that farmers may face due to these rains. He added clouds and storms eventually pass and the sun shines again. He said that he's ecstatic that the Aam Aadmi Party is starting their election campaign from the holy land of Sri Fatehgarh Sahib. He appealed to the people to vote for AAP candidate Gurpreet Singh GP and send him to the parliament as their voice in the biggest panchayat of our country.
Addressing the gathering, Mann said that there are some works that a man does and feels like his life goal is fulfilled and he can ask for nothing else. A similar thing happened to me on December 27th 2018, I asked then speaker Sumitra Mahajan ji that the house should pay tribute to Sahibzadas because the last of December is their Shaheedi Saptah. She asked me for a written proposal and I submitted that. On December 27th the house proceedings were commenced by paying tribute to chhote Sahibzade of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. It was a historic day, now it is on record, every year, no matter how many years from now, the parliament on December 27th will begin its work after paying tribute to the martyrdom of Chhote Sahibzade. He said that the leaders of the so-called panthak party never asked the parliament to pay homage to our Sahibzadas. Because either they don't go to the parliament after getting elected or they only go there for their personal interests.
He said that he's standing before the people today after giving 43,000 government to the youth, that too without any bribe or recommendation. More than 90% of households are getting zero electricity bills. We built world class government schools, improved the condition of government hospitals, made medicinea available there and opened Aam Aadmi clinics. I didn't sell the public properties of Punjab to buy shares in transport, sand mines and dhabas, I bought a thermal power plant to give free electricity to the people of Punjab. I was a successful artist, if I only wanted money, I could have earned loads of it in the entertainment field. We are building new canals to give canal water to every field so that ground water can be saved. Canal water is reaching every corner of Punjab, at some places irrigation water was made available after 30 years. Our government in Punjab curbed the corruption, people are getting ration and government services at their door steps. We started a free pilgrimage scheme for our elders.
He continued that he only signs files which have pro-people and pro-Punjab contents and decisions. I also think about our volunteers before signing any file because they are the ones who face people everyday. Now they talk about every decision and the work of our government proudly. He said that now our youth is getting jobs in Punjab and they don't have to migrate to Canada and other countries. He said that he has travelled the world when he was in the entertainment field but Punjab has the best land and weather, our people are the most hardworking people in the world, they can succeed anywhere and in anything. We produce the record rice and wheat. Now our youth is getting opportunities in Punjab and they no longer have to move to other countries. We are bringing industries in Punjab like sanatan textiles, Hindustan Unilever and Tata steel. we are even encouraging farmers for crop diversification to save our land and water. We will be cultivating tomatoes for kissan ketchup in Punjab.
He said that the BJP arrested Arvind Kejriwal because they are mistaken that they can stop the Aam Aadmi Party but they don't know rivers make their own way with the flow. I was in Gujarat two days ago, there was a tsunami of the people in favour of the AAP. We are getting an overwhelming response in Assam and Kurukshetra. You have to vote not only to elect your representative but also to save our democracy and the constitution. In 2014, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib was one of the four seats that the AAP won. This time again vote for the AAP. Journalists ask me how we stopped Modi in Delhi and Punjab. I say Lotus blooms in mud, with 'jharoo' we clean that mud, so there are no Lotus in Delhi and Punjab. He said that last time their two MPs won but this time they will get a big zero in Punjab.
He said that the only problem is that right now he is alone fighting against the central government, anti-Punjab people, the governor etc. But elect the AAP candidate as your representative in the parliament. They will become your voice in the parliament, they will protect Punjab's rights there. Give us 13 MPs from Punjab, we will win in Delhi, Gujarat, Assam and Kurukshetra. We already have 10 Rajya Sabha MPs. When we will have strength of 30-40 MPs in the parliament, no one will be able to stop our pro-people policies, they won't be able to stop our funds no more.
He said that he's enough to take on all the opposition in Punjab. He has the support of the people of Punjab. The people gave him the historic mandate in 2022 and sent 92 AAP MLAs to the Punjab assembly. Now once again I'm among you, asking you to vote for the 'jharoo', this 'jharoo' will clean the political dirt. He said that Akali Dal is finished, Congress and BJP leaders are fighting among themselves for positions and tickets, they all are unnerved by the two years of work of the AAP government in Punjab. He said that they are not only crestfallen because of their defeats but they are also outraged that the daughters and sons of common families have reached the assembly, common people became CM, ministers and chairmen. Taking a dig at the opposition leaders, he said that a new kind of unemployment is taking place, they don't know anything except politics but now people have rejected them as leaders so they don't know what to do.
On this occasion, AAP MLAs Rupinder Singh Happy (Bassi Pathana), Lakhbir Singh Rai (Fatehgarh Sahib), Gurinder Singh Garry Warring (Amloh), Tarunpreet Singh Sondh (Khanna), Jagtar Singh (Samrala), Hardeep Singh Mundian (Sahnewal) and Hakam Singh Thekedar (Raikot) were also present.Bhagwant Mann said that he'll campaign in every constituency and he's so happy that the party is starting its campaign from the land of martyrs Sri Fatehgarh Sahib. Concluding, he once again urged the people to vote for the AAP candidate Gurpreet Singh GP and make him win Sri Fatehgarh Sahib lok sabha constituency by a huge margin.
