A minor road rage incident in Chandigarh took a dangerous turn when an argument over overtaking between Activa and motorcycle riders escalated into a firing incident.

According to police, the dispute began on the road after a verbal altercation between a group of youths riding an Activa and two motorcycle riders. Following the argument, the Activa riders allegedly followed the motorcycle riders and identified the location where they were staying in a PG accommodation in Sector 20.

Police said that one of the accused later returned to the PG along with an accomplice after allegedly bringing a pistol from his house. Upon reaching the location, the accused reportedly began vandalizing a motorcycle parked outside the building.

Hearing the commotion, the two motorcycle riders came downstairs, leading to another heated confrontation. During the altercation, the accused allegedly fired a shot from the pistol, creating panic in the area.

The victims managed to escape unharmed and immediately informed the police. Acting swiftly, police teams launched a search operation and apprehended one of the accused a short distance from the scene. A pistol was also recovered from his possession during the search.
