SAD will not contest four assembly by-elections,decision taken in party working committee meeting

Shiromani Akali Dal will not contest the assembly by-elections on four seats in Punjab. Its decision was taken today, Thursday, after the meeting of the party's working committee and district heads. There was serious discussion on this issue in this meeting which lasted for about two hours. After this this decision was taken. Senior leaders of the party will address the media regarding this.
This meeting was presided over by Executive Chairman Balwinder Singh Bhundad. This decision has come when party president Sukhbir Badal has been declared a 'Tankhaya' by Sri Akal Takht Sahib.Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh has already said that the decision on his punishment will be taken after Diwali. In such a situation, Sukhbir Badal will neither be able to campaign nor contest the elections.

Now, when one day is left for the nomination process to be completed and due to Sukhbir Badal staying away from the election process, SAD has taken this important decision that the party will not contest the elections.
