Punjab has stepped up its Special Intensive Revision (SIR-2026) of the electoral rolls by organising special camps at every polling booth across the state on July 11 and 12. The initiative aims to accelerate voter registration and verification ahead of the revision process.

During the camps, voters can submit completed application forms, obtain fresh forms, fill them on the spot, and seek assistance from Booth Level Officers (BLOs) regarding the inclusion of their names in the electoral roll. The camps will function at all polling stations from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Officials said BLOs who have already collected forms will use the two-day drive to digitise applications and rectify any deficiencies in the submitted documents to ensure timely processing.

To support the exercise, the Punjab government has directed that all government and aided schools remain fully operational on the two designated days, despite the holiday schedule. According to orders issued by the Education Department, all teaching and non-teaching staff must report for duty and assist the election machinery in SIR-2026-related work.

The Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, has also instructed all Deputy Commissioners-cum-District Election Officers to personally monitor the special camps to ensure their smooth and effective functioning.
