Young mountaineer Narendra Kumar, a resident of Meengni Khera village in Hisar district has undertaken the bold mission of climbing Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe and one of the most treacherous in the world. He recently departed for this significant expedition, and Haryana Sports Minister Gaurav Gautam, extending his best wishes.
Extending him best wishes, the Sports Minister said this expedition is not only a proud moment for Narendra Kumar but also for the entire state of Haryana and the nation. He lauded the mountaineer’s courage and dedication and wished him a safe journey.
Speaking about his preparations, Narendra Kumar shared that he has undergone extensive training for this climb and has the full support of his town and state. He emphasised that this climb is not just a personal achievement but also an opportunity to inspire the youth of the country.
Earlier, Narendra Kumar achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first mountaineer from Haryana to hoist the tricolour on Mount Annapurna, one of the world’s most dangerous peaks, standing at a height of 8,091 meters. His mountaineering feats include several national and international achievements, notably setting a world record by summiting Mount Kilimanjaro twice in five days. Narendra Kumar's next goal is to hoist the Indian tricolour on all 14 of the world’s highest mountain peaks.
