The troubles of suspended DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar of Punjab Police are increasing continuously. New Delhi: A special CBI court on Friday ordered the freezing of 26 bank accounts linked to Bhullar and his family till the completion of the probe in the bribery and alleged corruption case. This means that no transactions or withdrawals can be made from these accounts.

Co-accused Krishnu Sharda is also on the radar of the investigating agencies. Along with the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also intensified the investigation. Earlier, raids were conducted at 11 locations, including Bhullar's residence in Chandigarh, and seized important documents and electronic records.

According to sources, the court has approved the CBI's application related to the Preliminary Enquiry (PE), after which the scope of the investigation has increased further.

The investigating agencies have recently found some new and important evidence, on the basis of which the role of many IAS and IPS officers is also being investigated. It is being told that notices may be issued to some senior officers for questioning soon.

According to CBI sources, during the interrogation of Bhullar, the names of 14 such officers, including 10 IPS and 4 IAS officers, were said to have come up. The investigation also revealed that several officials were allegedly associated with the investment through a property dealer.

After this, the CBI raided the concerned premises in Patiala and Ludhiana and seized the documents.

At the same time, many important information has also been found in the investigation of co-accused Krishnu Sharda's mobile phone and other electronic devices.

The probe agency claimed that his contacts were spread over 50 officers. It is alleged that he used to play the role of an alleged intermediary in matters related to transfer-posting, influencing investigations, arms licences and FIRs. Now both the CBI and ED agencies are engaged in connecting the links of the entire network.
