Haryana’s Energy, Transport, and Labour Minister Anil Vij reacting to the recent rule in Delhi where petrol is no longer being provided to petrol vehicles older than 15 years and diesel vehicles older than 10 years, stated that the government is gradually taking steps to restrict vehicles that exceed pollution standards. Currently, such restrictions are being implemented only in Delhi.
Responding to Media persons' questions today, Vij said that the Transport Department’s app holds data on every vehicle, including its age, tax payment status and date of purchase. This makes it easy to determine how old a vehicle is and whether its taxes have been paid. At petrol pumps, when a vehicle is captured by camera, it will automatically be identified as meeting or violating the emission norms.
