AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee mini parliament of Sikhs has convened a special general house meeting on February 1 in view of the seriousness of the incident of police firing and violation of norms at Gurdwara Sri Akal Bunga Sahib Sultanpur Lodhi.
This decision was taken during a special meeting of office-bearers of the executive Committee under the presidentship of Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami at its headquarters here today.
While talking to media parsons , Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the government of Punjab led by Mr. Bhagwant Mann has seriously hurt the Sikh sentiments by firing at the Gurdwara Sahib of Sultanpur Lodhi, for which he was directly responsible while being the Home Minister.
He said that the silence of the government and the administration on this matter raises questions, while the investigation report conducted on the orders of Akal Takht has revealed that the police targeted the Gurdwara Sahib unnecessarily.
Advocate Dhami said that attacks on Guru houses by the police on the authority of the government cannot be tolerated.
He said that Punjab Chief Minister and Home Minister Bhagwant Mann can never be acquitted of the responsibility of Sultanpur Lodhi incident.
Advocate Dhami said that the Shiromani Committee will not remain silent on this serious issue and will publicize the heinous action of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the police at all levels among the Sangat.
He said that he has discussed this with the office-bearers of the internal committee today, according to which it has been decided to call the general meeting at Sri Amritsar on February 1 at 12:00 noon.
He said that the opinion of the members will be taken during this special meeting, while before that, the investigation report and details of the evidence will be sent to all the members.
He also informed that the investigation report and all the evidence proving the allegations against the police will be conveyed to the village level through the campaigning jathas.
Meanwhile, he also severely criticized the anti-Sikh policy being followed by Aam Aadmi Party in the case of Devinderpal Singh Bhullar.
The file regarding Bhullar's release was put forward several times, but now during the latest meeting of the Review Board, it has been rejected by proving that their agenda has never been positive towards Sikh issues.
He said that now Kejriwal's face has been completely exposed. Talking about the Punjab government's anti-Sikh intention, he said that the government did not approve the case against Dera Sirsa chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim in blasphemy cases after two and a half years.
He questioned the repeated parole of Gurmeet Ram Rahim by the Haryana government.
Advocate Dhami said that justice should not be one-sided, rather the government should have an equal policy for the captive Singhs.
On this occasion, the Shiromani Committee President also appealed to all the members of the Shiromani Committee, panthic organizations and sangats to make maximum votes of the Shiromani Committee, so that the tactics of infiltrating the panthic organizations can be rejected.
