Punjab News Line, Chandigarh:
Now Punjab Police is going to take a tough stand on the violence spreading in the society due to hate speeches and tension between different communities. Action will be taken against those who spread such hate speeches in the society through their comments and on social media. Taking such cases seriously, Rajya Sabha MP Vikram Sahni has handed over a dossier to Punjab Police Chief Gaurav Yadav. After this, the DGP also assured that he will order the district police officers so that people giving hate speeches can be controlled.
In the dossier sent to the DGP, Sahni has expressed seriousness that due to such cases, instability is spreading among different brotherhoods in the society. He said that videos of hate speech are constantly being seen on social media. Strict action should be taken against those who upload such speeches. Sahni said that this action has become very necessary at this time, so that the mutual relations among people are not hurt. He said that many such cases have come to light, in which especially the Hindu Sikh brotherhood has been hurt due to such speeches. Wrong things are spread through hate speech.
Strictness needed on those who give hate speech
He said that the DDP has said that not every case can be considered as hate speech, but still the issue is serious. Sahni said that if cases are registered against some people due to such hate speech or if they are let off after warning of strict action, then such cases can be curbed. Sahni said that no kind of compromise should be made in such cases. DGP Gaurav Yadav has assured him that he will issue orders to all the police district officers that if such an incident comes to light anywhere, then it should be dealt with strictly.
Apart from this, Sahni has also placed immigration cases before the DGP. People have been cheated on a large scale by the immigration. Sahni said that the DGP clearly said that the police cannot directly interfere in this. This matter comes under the district administration, so Saini said that now I will also talk to the Chief Secretary about the matter so that strict action is taken against the fraudsters. Strictness should be taken against such immigration agents who cheat people in the name of sending them abroad. Saini said that the police has clearly said that if the district administration sends the matter to them for action, then they will not make any kind of compromise. Vikram Sahni will also meet the Chief Secretary and put this issue before him.
