A major security scare unfolded in Jalandhar on Thursday after multiple schools received threatening emails warning of bomb attacks and a possible suicide car bombing targeting Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann during his ongoing “Shukrana Yatra.”

Among the institutions evacuated was the BSF School located inside the Border Security Force headquarters in Jalandhar. The school was vacated suddenly during school hours, creating panic among students and parents. The incident gained further attention as an explosion involving an Activa scooter had taken place outside the same BSF headquarters just two days ago.

The threatening email allegedly warned of blowing up schools and colleges in Punjab and also mentioned plans for a suicide attack targeting CM Mann. Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu was also reportedly named in the threat message.

BSF School Principal Ranjana Dogra said the administration received instructions from management to declare an early holiday for students. She clarified that the school had not been informed about any direct threat and that further updates regarding school operations would be shared with parents through official communication channels.

Meanwhile, Apeejay School in Jalandhar also received a bomb threat through email. Police teams rushed to the campus and evacuated students as a precautionary measure while intensive searches were carried out inside the premises.

Jalandhar Police confirmed that around five to six schools in the city had received similar threat emails. ADCP Aakarshi Jain said police teams were conducting thorough checks at all affected schools. She added that no suspicious object or explosive material had been found so far, but investigations were continuing with heightened security across the city.
