Truck overturns in Pakistan's Khairpur, four killed, 14 injured

At least four people, including the driver, were killed and 14 others were reported injured when a truck overturned on a highway near Khairpur in Pakistan on Sunday. According to police, the truck overturned due to speeding and overtaking. Rescue officials rushed the bodies and the injured to Khairpur Civil Hospital. The condition of three of the injured is said to be critical.

The hospital administration has declared an emergency at the medical facility and has also called doctors and paramedical staff on duty. The deceased have been identified as Amjad Maitlo, Zeeshan Soomar, Abdul Gaffar Maitlo and bus driver Muhammad Sohail. Police said the truck was going from Karachi to Sukkur. The accident victims were residents of a village near Rohri. The victims, who were involved in cattle trade, were returning home after selling animals in Karachi ahead of Eid ul Azha.
