The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has approved a proposal to rename the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar as Narendra Modi Jewar International Airport. Yogi Adityanath announced the decision during a press conference following the state cabinet meeting on Friday.
During the briefing, the chief minister praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s contributions to the country and highlighted several initiatives associated with his leadership. He said the construction of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor reflected the Prime Minister’s vision, while the reconstruction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya marked the end of a 500-year wait.
Yogi also cited the return of the idol of Maa Annapurna from abroad and its reinstallation in India as an important example of the Prime Minister’s efforts. He said the state cabinet had openly appreciated Modi’s contributions.
CM Highlights Uttar Pradesh’s Development
The chief minister said Uttar Pradesh shared a close relationship with Prime Minister Modi, adding that the state had witnessed significant changes in infrastructure and development under the BJP-led double-engine government.
According to Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh lacked adequate basic infrastructure before 2017. However, the state has since expanded its transport network and improved connectivity through expressways, highways, the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) and metro services.
He also highlighted the development of the international airport at Jewar, saying the expansion of aviation services had strengthened air connectivity in the state.
Focus on Welfare and Social Inclusion
Yogi Adityanath further said that several initiatives had been introduced under the Prime Minister’s leadership to support poor, disadvantaged, backward and women’s communities.
He also referred to the provision of 10 per cent reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), describing it as an important measure aimed at providing opportunities to economically disadvantaged sections.
The proposed renaming of the Jewar airport is the latest development highlighted by the Uttar Pradesh government as part of its broader infrastructure and development agenda.
