Haryana’s cabinet minister Anil Vij has suspended Sanjay Kumar, the Junior Engineer (JE) of the Ambala Industrial Area Sub-Division, for failing to replace a faulty transformer in Chandpura village of Ambala Cantonment even after 15 days.
Villagers from Chandpura had submitted a complaint to Energy Minister regarding the issue, upon which he took swift action and directed the suspension of the JE. The villagers alleged that the power transformer in Chandpura had been non-functional for several days, and they had lodged a complaint about it with JE Sanjay Kumar of Industrial Area, Ambala Cantonment nearly 15 days ago. However, neither was the transformer repaired nor replaced during this time. Taking serious note of the matter, Vij issued directions for the suspension of the JE, which was implemented with immediate effect.
It is noteworthy that Energy Minister Anil Vij had previously instructed Discoms officials to repair or replace faulty transformers within one hour in urban areas and within two hours in rural areas to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
It is also worth mentioning that along with the suspension of the JE, the faulty transformer has now been replaced by the Discom following the villagers’ complaint.
