India’s rising chess sensation and Woman Grandmaster Divya Deshmukh was felicitated with the Dynamite News Young India Country Award on Monday, in recognition of her exceptional achievements in international chess. Presenting the award, Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant lauded Divya’s success and said the entire nation is eagerly looking forward to her next milestone on the global chess stage.

Addressing the gathering, CJI Surya Kant said that Divya represents the new, confident India that is making its mark across the world through talent and determination. “It is a matter of great pride for all of us. These young achievers have brought immense honour to the country. The nation now looks forward to your future accomplishments,” he remarked.

The CJI also complimented the Dynamite News Award jury for their efforts in identifying and recognising young talent across diverse fields, noting that such initiatives play a crucial role in motivating the youth of the country.

Senior IAS officer Sanjay Kothari described Divya’s journey as truly inspirational and praised her for her discipline and consistency. He also acknowledged the role of her parents, Dr Namrata Deshmukh and Dr Jitendra Deshmukh, stating that their encouragement and constant support have been instrumental in shaping Divya’s successful career.
