169 missing saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib traced; this is not an achievement but our duty: CM Mann

Punjab Newsline,Chandigarh :

At Maghi gathering in Sri Muktsar Sahib, CM Mann announces ₹1,000 monthly assistance for women, reiterates fulfillment of all promises

On the sacred occasion of Maghi, Punjab Chief Minister CM Mann visited Sri Muktsar Sahib, where he paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Tuti Gandi Sahib and addressed a massive public gathering. On this historic and religiously significant day, CM Mann said that tracing 169 missing saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib was not an achievement but the government’s duty. He stated that the responsibility of publishing and maintaining saroops lies with the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), but due to the Akali Dal, these institutions failed to discharge their duty.

CM Mann said that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) was probing the case of 328 missing saroops, out of which 169 saroops were recovered from a religious place near Banga. He added that 139 of these recovered saroops had no official record. Calling it a grave lapse, he said such negligence and wrongdoing cannot be forgiven.

Addressing the gathering, CM Mann announced that the Punjab Government will make budgetary provisions in the upcoming budget to provide ₹1,000 per month as financial assistance to women. He asserted that his government has fulfilled every promise made to the people of Punjab and will continue to honour all commitments. CM Mann said the government is fully committed to the welfare of the common people.

Recalling the historical significance of Maghi and the sacred land of Sri Muktsar Sahib, CM Mann said that this soil had witnessed the supreme sacrifice of Sikh warriors led by Bhai Maha Singh ji. He said people from across the state had gathered to pay tribute to the martyrs and that the sacrifices made here inspire Sikhs worldwide to stand against tyranny, injustice, and oppression.

Taking a dig at opposition parties, CM Mann said previous governments had weak memories and only waited for elections to plunder Punjab. He said the ‘broom’, the symbol of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has cleaned the political system, which is why traditional parties are unsettled. He added that opposition leaders target him because he comes from a common family, something they find hard to accept.

CM Mann said the massive turnout at the rally reflects the love and trust people have in the government and its policies, adding that the public has made up its mind to give AAP another opportunity. He remarked that even people brought in buses by the Akali Dal joined the AAP rally.

Highlighting governance and development, CM Mann said more than 63,000 youths have been provided government jobs purely on merit, without corruption or recommendation. He said over 10,000 new police personnel are being recruited to strengthen the Punjab Police, 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics have been opened to provide free treatment and medicines, and 90 percent of households are receiving free electricity. He added that the closure of 19 toll plazas has resulted in daily savings of ₹64 lakh for the public.

Addressing the gathering, senior AAP leader and Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia said the massive participation clearly shows that people have made up their mind to re-elect the CM Mann-led government. He said the work done by the Punjab Government has received appreciation across the country and that people are eager to give AAP another mandate due to its consistent pro-people initiatives.
