Chandigarh, January 16 –
Chairman, Haryana Public Enterprise Bureau Subhash Barala, stated that the state government is making efforts to increase the income of farmers in the region. In this direction, a policy called "Haryana Farmer Producers Organization" is being formulated. Sh. Barala shared this information today at the Haryana Farmer Welfare Authority during a meeting with the "Northern Farmer Mega FPO," a significant apex body consisting of 43 other FPOs with around 1200 farmer members, having an annual turnover of approximately Rs. 10 crore.
During the meeting, Barala, who is also the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the "Haryana Farmer Welfare Authority," assured the "Northern Farmer Mega FPO" of the government's cooperation in the formation of the "Haryana Farmer Producers Organization" policy. He also expressed interest in promoting the export of agricultural products.
On this occasion, the CEO of the authority and the Director, Agriculture Department, Sh. Rajnarayan Kaushik, were also present.
Sh. Subhash Barala informed the "Northern Farmer Mega FPO" that the state government is committed to making farmers in the region economically stronger. He mentioned that the rules and conditions of the "Haryana Farmer Producers Organization" policy, formulated based on the needs of the farmers, will be further simplified.
He said that Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal is concerned about the welfare of farmers, and his vision is to increase the income of farmers in the state. Strengthening farmers will lead to increased purchasing power in the market, creating an economic cycle that benefits everyone, from farmers to traders and every section of society.
Sh. Subhash Barala, emphasized that most farmers still practice traditional farming methods, and it is time to modernize agriculture and ensure better prices for their produce through effective marketing. In view of this, the Haryana government is preparing the "Haryana Farmer Producers Organization" policy."
