Haryana power engineers support Uttrakhand employees strike

CHANDIGARH: Power engineers under the banner of the Haryana Power Engineers Association today held protest meetings at Hissar, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Panipat,Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, and other circle headquarters in support of the ongoing agitation of Uttrakhand power engineers and employees and against the HVPN decision to depute its engineers and technical staff to Power Transmission  Corporation of Uttrakhand Ltd. Dehradun for strike duty.


The Associaton has asked its members not to join illegal strike duty.
Ram Pal President and KK Malik General Secretary of the Association said that the
Uttarakhand power employees & engineers are forced to go on strike after the
Uttarakhand government backed out from its written commitments given by the energy minister in July 2021 regarding restoration of original time scales, revision of allowances, and regularisation of contractual employees.


V K Gupta spokesperson of All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) said that the federation on Monday has written to Chief Minister Haryana to withdraw the strike duty orders issued by the Haryana Vidhyut Prasaran Nigam for deputing its employees and engineers to Uttrakhand.

Uttarakhand Power Employees & Engineers were getting three-time scales after 09
 years, total 14 years, and total 19 years of service since the UPSEB regime which continued after the formation of Uttarakhand and was suddenly withdrawn in the year 2017. Since 2017 Power Employees are getting three-time scales after 10 years, 20 years, and 30 years.
