Continuing the wave of development in his constituency, Punjab Cabinet Minister for School Education and Information & Public Relations Harjot Singh Bains today laid the foundation stone for a 333-meter-long bridge over the Sutlej River at Kalitran, to be constructed at a cost of 20.77Cr. On October 7, marking Valmiki Jayanti, another bridge costing 11.23 crore will be inaugurated at Plassi.

To connect these bridges, 11 kilometers of 18-foot-wide roads will be constructed at a cost of 13 crore, significantly reducing travel time between remote areas. Earlier, on October 2, Bains laid the foundation stone for a 511-meter-long high-level bridge at Bhallari, worth 35.48 crore.

Addressing a large and enthusiastic gathering during today’s grand event, Bains said that the Punjab Government’s top priority is to deliver quality infrastructure and essential amenities to every region of the state. He emphasized that such development projects not only improve connectivity and transportation but also enhance the overall standard of living of the people.

Bains further stated that these projects are part of a broader vision to transform Sri Anandpur Sahib into a model constituency, marked by modern infrastructure, improved connectivity, and sustainable growth. The event saw the presence of a large number of local residents, community leaders, and officials, who warmly welcomed the Minister and expressed gratitude to the government for the rapid pace of development in the region.

Bains highlighted that the ongoing construction of bridges, connecting roads, and footbridges represents a new chapter in the development story of Sri Anandpur Sahib, promising faster transportation, safer connectivity, and a brighter future for the people of Punjab.
